|1||cup||buttermilk or sour milk |
|1/2||cup||brown sugar, packed |
|1 1/2||cup||blueberries |
|1||cup||unbleached flour |
|1/4||teaspoon||cloves, ground |
|1||teaspoon||baking powder |
|Soak oats in milk until moisture is absorbed. Add salad oil, egg, brown sugar and blueberries and mix thoroughly.|
Mix together flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, salt, allspice and nutmeg and add to oat mixture. Mix thoroughly.
Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot.
